Adding a Camera Stream
- Click + in the stream list
- Select Camera as source type
- Choose your camera device
- Configure quality settings
- Preview in the main window

Camera Settings
Resolution
- Match your camera’s native resolution
- Common options: 720p, 1080p, 4K
- Higher = better quality, larger files
Frame Rate
- 30 fps: Standard, smooth motion
- 60 fps: Very smooth, larger files
- Match screen recording if combining
Orientation
- Normal: Standard orientation
- Flipped: Mirror horizontally
- Useful for front-facing presentations
Recording with Screen
To record camera and screen simultaneously:
- Add screen stream first
- Add camera stream second
- Both share the same timecode
- Both start/stop together
In editing, you can:
- Picture-in-picture overlay
- Switch between sources
- Use as separate tracks
Audio with Camera
Camera audio options:
- Use camera’s built-in microphone
- Use separate microphone stream
- Disable camera audio
For best quality, use a dedicated microphone as a separate audio stream.
Tips for Camera Recording
Lighting
- Face your light source
- Avoid backlight (window behind you)
- Soft, even lighting is best
Positioning
- Eye level or slightly above
- Fill 1/3 to 1/2 of frame
- Leave headroom
Background
- Clean, uncluttered
- Good depth
- No distracting elements
Troubleshooting
Camera Not Detected
- Check USB connection
- Verify camera works in other apps
- Restart PixelRecorder
- Check System Settings > Privacy > Camera
Poor Quality
- Check lighting
- Verify resolution settings
- Clean camera lens
- Update camera drivers
