Interface Overview
This guide provides an overview of PixelRecorder’s user interface and how to navigate its features.
Main Window
The main window is divided into several areas:
Stream List
The left sidebar shows all configured recording streams. Each stream can be:
- Screen: Full display or window capture
- Camera: Webcam or external camera
- Audio Only: Microphone or system audio
Preview Area
The central area shows a preview of selected sources. Use this to verify your setup before recording.
Control Bar
The bottom bar contains:
- Record Button: Start/stop recording
- Timer: Shows current recording duration
- Settings: Access recording settings
Adding Streams
To add a new recording stream:
- Click the + button in the stream list
- Select the source type (Screen, Camera, Audio)
- Choose the specific source
- Configure quality settings
Stream Settings
Each stream has independent settings:
Video Settings
- Resolution: Match source or scale
- Frame Rate: 24, 25, 30, 50, or 60 fps
- Codec: H.264 or HEVC
Audio Settings
- Sample Rate: 48kHz (recommended)
- Bit Depth: 24-bit
- Channels: Mono or Stereo
Timecode Settings
- Start Timecode: Set custom start time
- Drop Frame: For 29.97/59.94 fps
Recording Controls
Starting a Recording
- Configure your streams
- Click the Record button
- All streams start simultaneously with synced timecode
Stopping a Recording
- Click the Stop button
- Files are saved to your designated folder
- All streams receive the same base filename
